The NXT Championship has an absolutely incredible lineage. Starting around 2012, Seth Rollins would gain the honor of becoming the first-ever NXT Champions. The early days of the NXT Championship didn’t see as many high-quality matches as there are today, but even so, each title reign just seemingly got better as the quality of the product continued to improve.
The NXT Championship is the gold standard at the yellow brand, and wars have been fought over it. With over a dozen champions in the lineage and many extensive title reigns, there’s no title in recent WWE history that has consistently seen better quality matches as compared to the NXT championship.
