Brooke Valentine believes in Mercedes Moné.
Like many members of the wrestling community, indie star Brooke Valentine was thoroughly intrigued about the possibility of seeing Mercedes Moné join All Elite Wrestling. And after months of speculation, “The CEO” did just that as she officially debuted on the “Big Business” edition of “AEW Dynamite.”
WrestleZone’s Ella Jay caught up with Brooke Valentine ahead of this highly-anticipated arrival to gather her thoughts on Moné potentially making the move to AEW.
“God, I’d be ecstatic. Mercedes was one of the first wrestlers that my friend showed me to even get me involved in wrestling. Her and Bayley at [WWE NXT] Takeover, I feel like [with] the new generation of wrestlers, that’s everyone’s favorite match, and for good freakin’ reason. So being able to see her come back would be amazing. Willow’s on the card [for Big Business], so it’d be really cool to see my faves in the ring together.”
Luckily for Valentine, she wouldn’t have to wait too long before Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Moné reunited in the ring. After Moné delivered her introductory speech at the top of Dynamite, she reappeared in the main event, saving Nightingale from a post-match match beatdown at the hands of Skye Blue and TBS Champion Julia Hart.
In-Ring Prospects
In surveying the landscape, Valentine is also keen on seeing Moné share a ring with a few other notable women in the AEW locker room. One of these names, of course, is the reigning AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm.
“I’d love to see her and Toni [Storm],” Valentine said. “Honestly, the entire women’s division, it’s really stacked lately. I feel like everyone’s really coming into their own right now, and really having banger after banger. And I really think that she can mix it up with anybody on there, but specifically Willow, of course. Trish [Adora as well].
