Trevor Lee With Shane Helms
Trevor Lee has Shane Helms in his corner in TNA as the X-Division Champion. First thing is first: Shane Helms gets the business. A smart guy who has experience in all levels of wrestling. I like his addition to the company, but question why he is with Trevor Lee. Lee is very young, learning the business while putting on great matches.
I question if TNA’s ultimate goal is for Shane Helms to become X-Division Champion. Not that he can’t do it and do it well, but I think he can be suited better for just working on the outside and in the back. X-Division is viewed as “who can be champion next?” You have the options, thanks to Austin Aries. Shane Helms doesn’t need to get the title and continue to climb the ranks. As smart as he is and good of a wrestler, I think his best asset is putting together matches and not necessarily being in the middle of them right now.
TNA Is Onto Something Here
One of the things I love most about tag team wrestling is when a team has two guys that bring something completely different to the table from the other. Abyss and Steve are that. One is the monster, big and powerful, while Steve throws his body around like a rag doll. They have a good chemistry together and are creepy good. They faced off against Beer Money and basically get another contest next week in Monster’s Ball against The Wolves.
Beer Money continues to be consistent, entertaining and a crowd favorite. What does that do to The Decay if they lose next week as well as the DQ this week? Does it devalue what they could potentially bring to the division? Shouldn’t the new team, one that desperately needs a big push and exposure, get the W? Either way, I do think creative and unique tag teams are exactly what is needed in this division. Not to bash the other teams, but many are very similar and have been in so many matches where it gets repetitive. Give me fresh!
