Dr. Britt Baker vs. Hikaru Shida

Dr. Britt Baker crashed Mercedes Mone’s moment with her return at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Baker would attack Mone following her win against Nyla Rose on 7/17 Dynamite. At 7/20 episode of Collision, Hikaru Shida said she wanted the D.M.D. to be her opponent. These two former partners and rivals take on each other tonight at AEW Blood & Guts.

“The Glamour” Mariah May appears at AEW Blood & Guts

Mariah May betrayed Toni Storm shortly after winning the 2024 Owen Hart Tournament. She added insult to injury by dressing up as her former mentor on the following AEW debut. Tonight, we witness the debut of Mariah’s newest persona, “The Glamour.”

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Minoru Suzuki – FTW Championship

Jericho wanted Suzuki to sub for Bryan Keith at Forbidden Door. Suzuki wanted no part of it and instead told “The Learning Tree” to put his FTW Championship on the line. The puroresu legend showed up last week on Dynamite to officially lay down the challenge. The match is set for Blood & Guts tonight.

We’ll hear from MJF

MJF and Will Ospreay went all out last week on AEW Dynamite. Both men went back and forth for nearly 60 minutes before Max used a cheap tactic to put away Ospreay for the AEW International Championship. Both men required medical attention after the epic outing. “The Devil Himself” will appear at Blood & Guts with his newly-won title to address the fans.

Blood & Guts match featuring Team AEW & The Elite

It all began when The Elite attacked Tony Khan on 4/24 Dynamite. This new version of the group featuring Okada, Bucks and Jack Perry would emerge victorious against Team AEW at AEW Double or Nothing. Bucks found themselves at odds with The Acclaimed amid their shenanigans. They tried to recruit Swerve Strickland into the fold, but the champion chose AEW.

Adam Page, who made his AEW in-ring return on 7/3 Dynamite, joined The Elite as their fifth man for Blood & Guts last week. Page cited his deep hatred for Swerve as the reason for picking Team AEW despite being a tweener in this whole faction feud. The Elite (Bucks, Okada, Perry, and Page) take on Team AEW (The Acclaimed, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and Strickland) tonight.

WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Blood & Guts as it airs.
