Jessica Troy prepares for a massive grudge match.
This Friday, Pro-Wrestling Australia will host its final and most festive Black Label show of 2025, titled KICK ONS. In the case of former PWA Heavyweight Champion Jessica Troy, she’s heading in with a mix of vengefulness and cheerfulness as she once again comes face to face with her former friend, Charli Evans.
For years, Evans and Troy called themselves best friends, even tag team partners. At PWA Colosseum 2024, however, Troy defeated Evans to retain the PWA Heavyweight Championship, which ignited a massive betrayal from the latter. Since then, Evans has found new pals in North Shore Wrestling (Jack Osborne, Sam Osborne and Will Kiedis), whom she will now team with in a tag match against Troy at PWA KICK ONS.
Standing alongside Troy will be Big Fudge, Shay Kassidy, and a mystery partner set to be revealed at KICK ONS. Whomever her teammates are, Troy made it clear that her primary objective is beating North Shore Wrestling.
“It’s actually really interesting. It’s a really weird contrast because normally KICKS ONS and the last show of the year is festive, it’s kind of more lighthearted and a bit of fun, and we get crowd interaction. But now I also have this massive grudge match I’m going into because it’s against North Shore Wrestling, who I hate. So it’s like I want to be lighthearted and have a bit of fun, but also I want to do the job, get the job done,” Troy told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay.
Troy Heaps Praise For Shay Kassidy
With her long-time tag partner, Kingsley, relocating to Canada in early 2025, Shay Kassidy has spent much of this year branching out into more singles competition. This work, along with that in tag team wrestling, later earned Kassidy a spot on the PWI Women’s 250 list, specifically number 174.
According to Troy, Kassidy’s ascent on the Australian indie circuit has been thrilling to see firsthand, and with 2026 around the corner, only the sky is her limit.
“It’s really cool to like witness it, especially since I can see a lot of similarities between us, not just even wrestling career-wise. We’re quite similar people as well. We’re a bit quirky, and we can take a joke pretty well. I can see a lot of similarities. We’re very similar people inside the ring and outside the ring, so tagging with her, I’m really excited,” Troy said.
“But I’m also really excited to see what she does in 2026 in her whole singles run because it’s been magical this year. She’s gotten all over Australia. She’s forced her name out there, which is so inspiring. Realistically, so few people are able to do that, basically just force themselves into the scene and be like I’m one of the best wrestlers, so I’m going to be wrestling at your promotion, your promotion, your promotion, and she’s done it this whole year. So I’m excited to see where she goes next.”
