A Knockouts World Title match has been added to Multiverse United. Roxanne Perez pushes herself to the limit against Meiko Satomura. Delmi Exo speaks with WrestleZone and more! Let’s break it all down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!
Knockouts World Title Match Added To Multiverse United
Mickie James has a huge mountain to climb over these next two weeks.
Following her successful title defense on No Surrender, Mickie James was equipped to lay her title down once again. Last week on IMPACT Wrestling, “The Quintessential Diva” Gisele Shaw challenged James for the Knockouts World Championship. Shaw, of course, brought herself some extra backup for the occasion, as Jai Vidal and Savannah Evans accompanied her to the ring. James did her best to fend off Vidal and Evans, but it wasn’t until an unlikely ally stepped in that the “Hardcore Country” legend finally found her path to victory.
After feuding with Gisele Shaw for several weeks, “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo joined commentary for the title match. Toward the conclusion, Savannah Evans stepped up on the apron to distract the referee, allowing Shaw to surprise James with a rollup. Luckily for James, the referee didn’t see the pin attempt, allowing Deonna Purrazzo to swoop in to help James reverse her momentum, and trap Shaw in a pinfall for the three count. Therefore (with the aid of Deonna Purrazzo), Mickie James remains the Knockouts Champion.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend…” Purrazzo wrote via Twitter.
Following James’ title retention on Thursday, IMPACT Wrestling delivered a major match announcement for their upcoming Multiverse United pay-per-view. In conjunction with New Japan and Tokyo Joshi Pro, Miyu Yamashita will make her way to California for a shot at the Knockouts Championship. On March 30, Mickie James will defend her title in a fatal four-way match against Yamashita, Deonna Purrazzo, and Gisele Shaw.
Per IMPACT:
The stars will be out in Los Angeles as the Knockouts World Title is up for grabs in a huge four-way match at Multiverse United: Only the STRONG Survive. If Mickie James successfully defends the gold against Jordynne Grace at Sacrifice, her title will be on the line against not one, not two but three formidable opponents. Stepping up to the challenge is IMPACT Wrestling’s Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw, as well as Tokyo Joshi Pro’s Miyu Yamashita. The stakes are high and the Knockouts World Title is in serious jeopardy!
IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling present Multiverse United: Only the STRONG Survive LIVE March 30th at 11pm ET on FITE. Tickets for this co-branded mega event from the Globe Theater in Los Angeles are SOLD OUT.
Of course, Mickie James has one hurdle to get through if she wants to even get a taste of Multiverse United. On March 24, former champion Jordynne Grace will enact her rematch clause and challenge James for the Knockouts Championship at Sacrifice.

Roxanne Perez Pushes Herself To The Limit Against Meiko Satomura
After weeks of training, Roxanne Perez looked to score some redemption for herself.
Last year, the young “prodigy” went face-to-face with wrestling legend Meiko Satomura for the first time. Ultimately, Satomura was the one who emerged victorious, but Perez was determined to secure the win this time. Last week on WWE NXT Roadblock, Perez met Satomura in the main event, putting her NXT Women’s Championship on the line.
The contest proved to be a back and forth struggle, as each competitor unloaded a hard-hitting offense. In the end, though, Perez prevailed. Towards the conclusion of the match, Satomura delivered a thunderous ax kick to Perez on the outside floor. As she rolled Perez back into the ring, she attempted another one, but Perez had it scouted. Reversing her momentum into a pin, Perez stunned Satomura and clutched the three-count fall to retain her title

Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez!
Once the bell rung, however, the after-effects started to set in for Roxanne Perez. As the two women exchanged signs of respect, Perez collapsed to the mat, prompting referees and medical staff to rush down to aid her. Booker T also left his post on commentary, while Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels appeared as Perez was stretchered out.
Last Friday, the NXT Twitter account issued an update on Perez’s condition. “Roxanne Perez has been discharged from the hospital and is now at home resting,” the tweet read.
