Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “IC Title Needs A Bit Of Styles”

There Needs To Be Consistency

The Lucha Dragons, Neville and Dolph Ziggler took on The League of Nations. If you are doing math, King Barrett was involved! Towards the end of the match, Kalisto goes for a flying crossbody, but Rusev catches him in mid-air. Sin Cara knocks Rusev down with a suicide dive to the outside and then Neville goes for the Red Arrow to King Barrett. Alberto Del Rio connects with a superkick to Neville and then Dolph Ziggler hits Del Rio with one. As he heads to the outside, Sheamus is able to get the tag and hit a Brogue Kick to Neville for the win.

The League of Nations pick up a win tonight, but the bigger question remains about their role in Dallas. There needs to some level of consistency with these guys. Will they beat main event guys weekly like Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose? No, but they need to find a spot and stick there. Is the feud still ongoing with Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio? Does WWE want The League of Nations to be important enough at WrestleMania where they get a tag team championship match AND someone involved in a United States Championship match? I think they should and I think, if you really want to build old school heels, them leaving Dallas with multiple championships might be the way to go. With not much direction right now, WWE has a great opportunity to detour them to a bigger and more important role, if they are consistent in their booking.

Speaking of Tag Teams…

D-Von Dudley took on Jimmy Uso in singles action. With a heel Dudley Boyz, you are really getting what TNA fans got when Bubba cut a promo there. His emphasis on not being a nostalgia act and his constant ability to sound like a d*ck makes it work so well. The match was short, uneventful and really provided nothing too serious heading forward. Will they end up getting a spot on the card? If they don’t, they are being wasted mightily.
