A new report shines some light on Nick Aldis‘ status with IMPACT Wrestling.
Nick Aldis returned to IMPACT Wrestling at the IMPACT Rebellion pay-per-view on April 16. There, the two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion joined the commentary team ahead of the world title match and stated that he was back. He also noted that he had his sights set on the IMPACT World Championship, and he confronted Steve Maclin after he beat KUSHIDA to win the vacant title.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Nick Aldis is not on a handshake deal, as has previously been reported; he is on a short-term agreement that seems to be a “feeling-out process” for both sides. Sapp cited sources who noted that Aldis wants to see how being in the company works, and he’s focused on having a positive impact. The report noted that Aldis did not want the status of his deal to overshadow the work being done.
PWInsider.com first reported that Nick Aldis was believed to be under some sort of handshake deal with IMPACT Wrestling. Inside The Ropes later disputed that claim and reported that Aldis had “100% percent” signed a contract with the company. ITR did not disclose terms of the deal but stressed that Aldis had signed some type of contract.
Nick Aldis previously discussed his return to IMPACT. Check out his comments here.
