“The National Treasure” wants the gold, as Nick Aldis has his sights set on the IMPACT World Championship.
Aldis returned to IMPACT Wrestling at the Rebellion pay-per-view and confronted Steve Maclin after he won the vacant IMPACT World Championship. Aldis, a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and a two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, is eager to add more gold to his list of accolades.
Speaking with Tim Battle and Eli on the Battleground Podcast, Aldis discussed his return to IMPACT and made it clear that he is coming for the world title.
“They showed me the respect of basically saying, ‘We want Nick Aldis as you are. Come in here, and we want to build off of the work that you’ve done, and to be able to combine that with, yes, I also have a lot of history here, that’s exciting. The roster at IMPACT is world-class. There’s so much discussion all the time about who’s coming and going at WWE, who’s coming and going at AEW, and that’s justifiable.
“But in the meantime, if you look at IMPACT’s roster, that’s a murderer’s row. Now I’m looking at it going, ‘Finally, I’ve got some real competition.’ I’m looking around going, ‘Yup, I want to mix it up with him, I want to get in there with him, me and him will be money.’ It’s just like, take your pick. But make no mistake, if I’m coming in, I don’t want to waste any time. I want to go after the strap.”
