The February 8 episode of AEW Dynamite is set to feature several high-stakes matches.
As announced during the February 1 episode of Dynamite, The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) will defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn), with The Acclaimed looking to put an end to the ongoing feud between the two duos. The champions rejected The Gunns’ initial challenge, but “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn overruled the decision because he’s tired of seeing the teams fight, and his son Austin took some harsh verbal shots at him that seemingly swayed his decision.
Elsewhere on the show, AEW World Champion MJF will face Konosuke Takeshita in an eliminator match. Takeshita and MJF have been at odds in recent weeks, as the fan-favorite star has been a thorn in the champion’s side during his attempts to take out Bryan Danielson. Takeshita beat Brian Cage on Wednesday night and later took the fight to MJF when he tried to interfere in Danielson’s match against Timothy Thatcher. MJF and Takeshita then brawled backstage, and their upcoming singles match was announced by Renee Paquette.
Plus, AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter face The Bunny in an eliminator match. Elsewhere in the show, RUSH will take on Bryan Danielson, who is on a quest to earn a title shot against MJF. Danielson defeated Thatcher on Wednesday, and he has also picked up wins against Takeshita, Bandido, and Tony Nese in recent weeks.

The Guevara-Garcia Gauntlet will also be held next week, and will see Ricky Starks facing off against Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and either Sammy Guevara or Daniel Garcia. If he’s able to run the gauntlet and defeat all three opponents, he’ll get a rematch against Chris Jericho.
While the match hasn’t officially been announced, The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) agreed to put their SEW World Trios Championship on the line against AR Fox and Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin). Top Flight defeated the Young Bucks on the January 18 episode of AEW Dynamite. Omega had been sidelined due to via issues since the January 11 episode of the show, where The Elite won the titles by beating Death Triangle, but he returned on Wednesday night.
