It appears that Cole Karter is Elite.
Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan was written off of NXT television and released last month, but he showed up on AEW Dynamite this week as “Cole Karter.” Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) is reporting that multiple sources have indicated that Karter is under contract with AEW. It was noted that Karter is likely under a tiered deal with the promotion.
Karter faced off against Ricky Starks for the FTW Title on the July 20 episode of AEW Dynamite, losing his first match for AEW in nearly a year. Karter previously appeared in nine other matches in AEW between April and October of 2021. He later signed with WWE and worked as Troy Donovan on NXT.
Donovan was released due to a wellness policy violation and was written off of television the following week, with Tony D’Angelo claiming he was “sleeping with the fishes.”
