Konnan ‘Doing Better’ After Being Hospitalized For COVID-19 & Kidney Issues

There’s a brief health update on  Konnan after it was reported the star has been hospitalized due to  concerning kidney issues and testing positive for COVID-19.

MLW CEO Court Bauer took to Twitter to keep fans in the loop about the health status of the legendary Mexican grappler. “Please know Konnan is doing better and appreciates the love and support,” Bauer Tweeted.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer was the first to report that Konnan was taken to the hospital as he was having an issue with his kidneys which was noted by Meltzer as “pretty serious.” Konnan happened to have a kidney transplant in 2007. AAA Lucha Libre broadcaster Hugo Savinovich later announced that Konnan tested COVID-19 positive which was then confirmed by the star himself. He hopes to be released from the hospital by the end of the week.

Konnan has been a major factor in both Major League Wrestling and in AAA Lucha Libre. The two promotions have formed a recent collaboration over the course of the past year with their alliance most recently being highlighted by an interpromotional title unification match between Lio Rush and Laredo Kid.

We here at WrestleZone want to extend our best wishes and prayers to Konnan for a speedy and healthy recovery.
