Rusev wasn’t happy when R-Truth won the United States Championship. He said that the title deserved better than Nakamura and certainly deserves better than R-Truth. This led to a championship match between the two as R-Truth thought he could take him on despite already having a match.

Rusev would get the upper hand early on, but R-Truth once again pulled out a quick pin out of nowhere to retain his belt. After Truth was celebrating, he was attacked by none other than Shinsuke Nakamura. He then threw the US champ in the ring where Rusev started to beat him down.
