After tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live, the latest episode of 205 Live took place. Tonight’s episode was big for one main reason, and it was the match between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese, with the winner given a chance to challenge Buddy Murphy for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Tonight’s 205 Live also saw Mike Kanellis taking on Akira Tozawa, with the former walking away as the victor in a decisive win.

When it came time for Nese and Alexander to fight for their shot at a WrestleMania match, neither disappointed. The fight was everything that fans would have wanted, with both Alexander and Nese trading huge blows as they battled it out. With the crowd chanting their approval, Alexander looked to be well on his way to WrestleMania before Nese was able to counter a Lumbar Check. From there, Nese hit Alexander with two rough knees to the head, knocking out Cedric and sending Tony to WrestleMania 35 to challenge Buddy Murphy for a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

After the match, Murphy himself appeared in the arena, coming down to “congratulate” Nese on his victory. After a quick hug and a celebratory hand raise, Murphy allowed Nese to turn his back and delivered a swift running kick to the head of Nese. Murphy definitely seems ready to defend his Cruiserweight title, and Nese will need to bring his ‘A’ game in order to become the newest Champion at WrestleMania 35.
