During a recent interview on Prime Time with Sean Mooney, Marty Scurll addressed the rumours surrounding his match against Kazuchika Okada at All In going way over its allotted time as well as why he missed the ‘curtain call’ to end the show. A big thanks to WZ’s Bill Pritchard for the transcription.

Marty Scurll on the ‘controversy’ surrounding his match with Okada:
“Normally I don’t like to reveal the curtain back too much, but in this case I will. We went a minute over, but people saying we went fourteen minutes over—no, no, no—the show went fourteen minutes over. A bunch of the other matches went over. I guess our match was crucified because we were the match that was on before last.
Just before I went out, Nick Jackson said to me and [Kazuchika] Okada, ‘guys, whatever you do, don’t cut anything. Just do whatever you do. Even if we go on dark tonight, it’s fine; just do what you’ve got to do.’ So obviously, it came from the boss’ mouth. It’s not even like he was like ‘you guys went fourteen minutes over!’ I was like OK, we went 26 minutes; are you suggesting they booked a semi-main [event] with months and months of build to have a twelve minute match? That’s one of those ideas that people get in their heads and stuff you read in the dirtsheets, whatnot.”
Scurll on the ‘missed’ curtain call:
“The whole show was going over. In terms of the curtain call, I didn’t know what was going on. None of us did! I was in the semi-main match, so I finished my match, I’ve cooled down, whatever. I was in the shower. I didn’t know what was— I didn’t have a clue!”
