WWE Stock Update – How Much Did McMahon Lose Out On?

WWE stock is currently valued at $72.82 per share, which is more than triple what it was worth at this time one year ago. According to US News & World Report WWE stock has risen by a whopping 266% in the last year alone and with WWE’s new television deals with Comcast and FOX, the stocks are expected to continue to perform well.

Although WWE stock has done extremely well as of late, WWE CEO Vince McMahon may have committed a financial blunder by selling more than 3 million WWE shares back in December. McMahon, who took the shares out to invest in his re-launch of the once disastrous XFL, lost out on more than $140 million. According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter,

“In December, he sold 3,340,000 shares at $28.68 per share to raise $95,791,200 for the XFL start-up. If he sold those shares today at market value (and if he did sell, it would actually be at slightly below market value) he’d have raised $236,672,400 so had he just sat right for six months he could have retained far more stock while raising far more money, and funded a ton of XFL early losses.”

The Observer also notes that McMahon is still long past the point where money will ever be an issue with him and that is despite losing out on more than $141 million.

Kane’s Actual Political Views

Deadspin’s David Bixenspan recently wrote an article on Knox County Mayoral candidate Glenn Jacobs (Kane) and expounded on some of his actual political views. Jacobs recently won the Knox County (Tennessee) Republican Mayoral Primary and is widely considered the favorite to become the new mayor of Knox County; but, little is known about his actual viewpoints.

Kane’s own website is somewhat vague, so, Bixenspan dissected The Big Red Machine’s political ideology:

  • Kane is a self professed “liberty leaning libertarian” and compares himself to former Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul
  •  Kane supports legislation that would allow terminally ill patients to try experimental new drugs
  • He has expressed wavering views on the Affordable Care Act
  • He is a believer in low taxes and a supporter of WWE Hall of Famer President Donald J. Trump, whom Kane believes is doing a good job
  • He has referred to anyone who benefits from publicly funded programs as the “parasitic sector”
  • While on Alex Jone’s conspiracy minded Info Wars program, Kane claimed the State had a monopoly on currency

Bixenspan made contact with Kane’s political opponent Democrat Linda Haney, who offered her own political platform; however, Jacobs’ campaign manager did not provide any information regarding his candidates platform.
