Kevin Owens Makes WWE Debut Three Years Ago Today

It was on May 18, 2015 when NXT Champion Kevin Owens showed up on Raw to confront John Cena during his U.S. Title Open Challenge. Kevin Owens later beat John Cena at Elimination Chamber.

Two nights before NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, the NXT Champion makes a statement to The Champ.

Bam. Right then and there you had a star made in Kevin Owens. That debut was hotter than anything I’ve seen in years by WWE and while Owens is definitely still a star, Vince McMahon hasn’t utilized him to that kind of level again. Kevin Owens is a main event act, heel or face, through and through, but Vince puts him in roles that build other people up rather than tapping into that “Fight Owens Fight” mantra that had the crowd initially going in a fever pitch.

Charlotte To Be On Sheamus’ ‘Celtic Warrior Workouts’
