Nikki Bella and Brie Bella were guests on the TODAY show earlier this morning, and spoke about John Cena’s recent appearances on the show this week.
Nikki said she was shocked about John sharing his feelings, and said she is hopeful the couple can work things out:
“I was so shocked. I literally was in the middle of the red carpet for the NBCUniversal upfronts and got the breaking news. John—and you guys know this—he is absolutely an amazing man. He is such a sweetheart and I truly love him so much; he’s my best friend.
But I think a lot of us that go through the wedding planning process have to face, or are forced to face all these issues we have just hiding deep down inside. I just know that a healthy me would be a healthy us. I do have hope for a future, but I know right now I need to work on me.”
“Before I do say those vows and walk down that aisle, I just don’t want to be hesitant. I don’t want to be regretful.
I think when you sacrifice for so long, and it’s like you can give so much and then you kind of get tired of giving. And then someone wants to give it back and you just already feel exhausted.”
Brie also commented on the relationship, saying:
This is the thing—she’s exhausted because she’s been in a marriage with me for 34 years. I’m not an easy wife. For me, I love both of them and I applaud them for putting their relationship out there, which you’ll see in this season of Total Bellas.
It’s really hard when you film a reality show, and me and my sister are the type of people who are open books, we have no filters. The good, the bad and the ugly, it’s all going on our show, and it just shows other women that you’re not alone. Cold feet really exist. I’m her twin, I have her back, John is my brother, I text him all of the time. He was actually my first Mother’s Day text I got. I love him, he’s a great man. I love them both together and I can’t wait to see how this all ends.
