Jim Ross Shares Heartfelt Bruno Sammartino Story
On the latest episode of The Jim Ross Report podcast, an emotional Jim Ross reflected on the passing of WWE Hall of Famer, Bruno Sammartino. Ross shared the following story about a heartfelt text exchange he shared with Bruno Sammartino’s son Darryl:
“I sent his son Darryl Sammartino a text. I said ‘Darryl it’s Jim Ross, I want to send my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your father. He was simply the best. Period. My late wife Jan and I loved being around him and this is what got me. The response from Darryl Sammartino: ‘Thank you very much Jim. I appreciate that. My Dad thought the world of you.’ I can’t tell you what those words mean to me. I’m getting a little emotional right now, no kidding. My Dad thought the world of you. God bless him. I will never erase that text. I love that text. I meant the world to Bruno. My God, what a testimonial because he meant the world to me. God bless you Bruno. Thank you for being my friend and thank you for everything you did for the wrestling business and that includes all the fans listening and all the talent making a living. R.I.P Bruno.”

On the very same Jim Ross Report episode, Ross pondered Braun Strowman’s superior athletic prowess & proclaimed,
“For anybody that is naïve enough – caught up in all this talk about Lesnar and Reigns and Saudi and who’s gonna win and who’s gonna hurt this guy – and everybody’s got everything figured out to the nth degree – never sleep on the fact that Braun Strowman, in my opinion, is the future face of the WWE.”
