WWE Greatest Royal Rumble Results (4/27): Live In Progress…

Match #7: WWE Championship Match AJ Styles (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

AJ Styles gets the over the stadium pyro treatment for his entrance.

The two start off by locking up in in the middle of the ring. Shinuke twists AJ into a wristlock only for AJ to reverse it into one of his own. Shinsuke breaks away and rolls to the outside to gain his composure. After a few seconds Shinsuke rolls back into the ring and the two lock up again. AJ puts Shinsuke in a side headlock and Shinsuke pushes them both into the ropes. The ref calls for them to pull apart and Shinsuke’s shakes AJ’s hair mockingly.

AJ lunges at Shinsuke and the two are against the ropes again. The two wrestle around in the corner until Shinsuke gets his head against AJ’s abdomen and goes limp, taunting him. Shinsuke backs up and tells AJ to, “COME ON!”

AJ dives at Shinsuke and sends him to the ground. AJ picks up Shinsuke and sends him to the corner. Shinsuke hits hard, falls to the mat and AJ goes for a pinfall attempt. Shinsuke gets to his feet and goes to the ropes where AJ runs at him and hits him. The two then again get tied up together and get pushed to the ropes. Shinsuke muscles AJ out of the ring and has him laying head first outside the ring on the apron under the bottom rope. Shinsuke then leaps off the apron and drops his knee across the back of AJ’s head.

Shinsuke rolls AJ into the ring, sits him up in a corner and then starts viciously kicking him. Shinsuke then pulls AJ into the middle of the ring and applies a reverse chinlock. AJ works his way to his feet and the two attempt a lock up only for Shinsuke to grab AJ and knee him in the face. AJ wobbles away and as Shinsuke goes to grab him manages to pull out a face first sit-out powerbomb. Both men are out on the mat.

AJ gets to his feet and dives at a sitting up Nakamura with a diving crossbody. AJ then picks him up into the fireman’s carry position and drops him with a neckbreaker off the back of his knee. AJ picks up Shinsuke who is able to push AJ off the ropes and hit him with a diving knee to the face. With AJ down Shinsuke drives more knees into his back before picking up and dropping him with a modified falcon’s arrow.

As AJ is trying to get to his feet Shinsuke teases the Kinshasa only for AJ to duck and lock Shinsuke in the Calf Crusher. Nakamura tries desperately to get to the ropes, manages to roll over but AJ finishes the roll and keep the Calf Crusher locked in. Nakamura barely manages to get his fingers to the ropes, breaking the hold. As the both get to their feet Nakamura hits AJ with a kick to the side of the head, sending AJ to the corner where Shinsuke sets him chest first across the top turnbuckle, then backs into the opposite corner, runs and hits AJ with a giant knee to the abdomen.

Shinsuke then sets AJ on the top turnbuckle and goes for a superplex. AJ manages to block the move and sends Shinsuke face first into the top turnbuckle. Both men fall to the mat. They slowly work their way to their feet and then they begun slugging it out mid-ring. AJ gets the better of Shinsuke, grabs him by the back of the head and drives a huge forearm into his face. AJ gets Shinsuke on the mat, goes for a pinfall and Shinsuke pulls AJ into an armbar attempt. AJ works his way to his feet and manages to hit Shinsuke with a pele kick.

Shinsuke goes to the corner and AJ charges him. Shinsuke sends AJ over the top rope, AJ lands on his feet and goes to hit Shinsuke with a Phenominal Forearm. Shinsuke ducks, notices the ref is out of position and hits AJ with a low blow. Shinsuke goes for the pinfall and AJ manages to grab the ropes breaking the pinfall.

Shinsuke once again calls for the Kinshasa but AJ ducks and sends Shinsuke crashing to the outside. AJ follows Shinsuke to the outside and hit him with a big spear that sends them both crashing over the Saudi Arabian announce desk. AJ continues to brawl with Shinsuke on the outside and the referee reaches his ten count for a draw.

Still WWE Champion: AJ Styles via double count out

Following the match AJ “snaps” and continues to attack Shinsuke. He rolls Shinsuke into the ring and teases the Phenominal Forearm but Shinsuke rolls to the outside. With Shinsuke standing on the outside AJ hits Shinsuke with a Phenominal Forearm to the outside.
