On Josh Mathews trying to be both a commentator and a pro wrestler:
PW: First, I think he’s a horrible commentator, that’s first and foremost. He gets a lot of his facts wrong. Maybe he should exit the commentary scene and let Sonjay Dutt take over with someone else so he can try being a wrestler. Then again, I can’t see him winning as a wrestler. Maybe he should stick to commentary. I feel like he can’t do one well so him trying to be a jack of all trades will result in him being a master of none.
On if winning the X-Division Championship, currently held by Matt Sydal, is his main Impact goal:
PW: Ever since day one when I started with Impact that has always been my goal, the X-Division Championship. I’ve challenged for the Impact World Championship before but it just feels like the X-Division is what made me and a lot of other wrestlers. I feel like the X-Division is me, I don’t know how else to put it, it’s in my blood.
On what factors he thinks are leading to Impact finding all of their new viewers:
PW: I think it’s the talent. A lot of the talent doesn’t have to be there it’s that they want to be there. Just over the past couple months there have been talent that have asked for their release and Impact didn’t say, “No, you’re still under contract, you’re going to be miserable and work here because we own you.” They told them they don’t have to work here if they don’t want to work here. It’s plain and simple, the people that want to be here will wrestle. When I was here in 2004 it was like everyone wanted to be there. I think that’s coming back.
