North American Champion… BAY BAY! Adam Cole became the first-ever NXT North American Champion after winning the six man ladder match in the opening contest at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.
Cole defeated EC3, Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, Lars Sullivan and Killian Dain to win the match; he will now defend the title tomorrow at Wrestlemania Axxess against Akira Tozawa, who won the North American Invitational Tournament to earn a title shot.
