UFC star turned WWE superstar Ronda Rousey has been confirmed by WWE to be appearing on every episode of ‘RAW’ leading up to Wrestlemania. The former UFC Battamweight Champion will be on the following RAWs: Tonight in Milwaukee, the March 12th Raw taping in Detroit, March 19th in Dallas, March 26th in Cleveland and April 2nd in Atlanta. This will help see Rousey build towards her expected WWE in-ring debut at ‘Mania in New Orleans on April 8th.
Rousey made her RAW debut last week in a segment with Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. The story seems set to Rousey against Triple H and McMahon who Angle revealed were only trying to sign her to manipulate because she embarrassed them during a confrontation at Wrestlemania 31 three years ago.
PWInsider.com also reported today that Rousey could potentially apear on a marquee live event for WWE at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, scheduled for March 16th. That event is a RAW branded ‘house show’ which will feature a Smackdown tag team match. If this does occur, it would be Rousey’s first time at ‘the World’s Most Famous Arena’ .
If there has been any doubt that Rousey is not serious about this current run with WWE, this should squash it quickly. It’s also interesting to see WWE pull the trigger on making Rousey a weekly attraction as they work down the road to the biggest show of the year. The payoff of Rousey smashing Stephanie McMahon is going to be the long anticipated tease for this year’s Wrestlemania, and it’s appeal to more casual fans is leaping off the screen.
