Number One Contender’s Match: Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
AJ Styles is out for commentary for this match.
Owens and Zayn lock up. Owens pushes Zayn to the ropes. Owens backs off. Zayn pushes Owens into the ropes. Zayn backs off just like Owens did. Owens rolls into a front face lock. Zayn gets to the ropes again. Spinning arm drag by Zayn. Zayn puts Owens in an armbar. Owens retreats to the ropes. Zayn smushes Owens in the face instead of giving him a clean break. Owens elbows the heck out of Zayn. Zayn laughs. Zayn double legs Owens and unleashes a barrage of punches. Owens rolls to the outside. Owens yells at Zayn asking what his problem is. Owens gets in the ring and Zayn double legs him again. Owens rolls to the apron. Zayn knocks Owens off the apron. Owens is livid on the outside of the ring. After the break, Owens and Zayn are kicking each other in the face over and over again. Owens delivers a massive lariat that turns Zayn inside out. Zayn and Owens trade chops. Zayn tries to kick Owens in the gut but Owens catches his foot. Owens pushes Zayn and Zayn does a backflip. Step-up enziguri by Owens. Owens grabs Zayn and crushes him with a package neck breaker.
Owens tries the cannonball but Zayn catches Owens for an exploder. Owens elbows his way out of the hold. Zayn slaps Owens in the chest. Zayn walks the ropes and destroys Owens with a tornado DDT. Owens kicks out. Zayn sets up a superplex Owens hooks the top rope. Owens knocks Zayn off the top. Owens tries a swanton but Zayn gets his knees up. Owens rolls to the outside. Zayn dives between the bottom and middle turnbuckle and hits another tornado DDT, this time on the outside. Zayn sends Owens back in the ring. Zayn calls for the Helluva Kick. Owens superkicks Zayn before he can hit is. Owens hits the frog splash. Zayn kicks out yet again. Owens tells Zayn to stay down and that he is the one who wins the titles. Owens tries the Pop-Up Powerbomb. Zayn leaps over Owens and obliterates him with a half-nelson suplex. Zayn lifts Owens and lands the blue thunder bomb for a long two count. Owens crawls out of the ring. Zayn gets in Styles face. Styles decks Zayn, then Owens. Styles chases Zayn off. Styles dives over the top onto Zayn and Owens.
Winner- No Contest
Daniel Bryan comes out on the stage and says because of Owens and Zayn’s performance tonight and the fact that Styles got involved, Styles will face Owens and Zayn in a triple threat match at Fastlane for the WWE Championship.
