Omega Issues Statement After Reuniting With Ibushi, Golden Lovers Appear On BTE
The biggest story coming out of New Japan, currently is Kenny Omega‘s ousting from Bullet Club and reuniting with his ex-partner Kota Ibushi. Omega was attacked by Cody, after Omega lost the IWGP United States Championship to Jay White, and wouldn’t allow Hangman Page to make a challenge. As Cody was about to go in for the kill with a chair, Kota Ibushi ran in to save his ex-partner. After refusing a handshake, Kenny hugged Kota in an emotional reunion of the former IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champions. Omega released the following statement in Tokyo Sports.
Translation by Chris Charlton:
When he came to help me, I had a flashback to our time as Golden Lovers. Ibushi’s always been hard to figure out, but I kind of understood something. The real Kenny is always at Kota’s side.
I said I wanted to face him (in the G1 Final) but the truth is that what I wanted was to stand in the ring with him.
(I didn’t go to WWE) because I was waiting for him. If we aren’t together, there’s no point. I want us to change the world together. I took the belts with Bullet Club, did a lot, but that was all the job. Golden Lovers transcends wrestling. This is real life. As long as there was a chance for this to happen, I wasn’t going to say goodbye to NJPW.
I don’t know if he wants what I want. But if he does, we can do something amazing together.

In the latest episode of Being The Elite, entitled “Bullet Club Is Fine,” Omega is continually shown to be headed in a different direction than The Young Bucks and Marty Scurll. Kenny reveals that he feels like Cody is trying to takeover Bullet Club, but The Bucks refuse to believe him. After Cody proves Omega’s prediction right, The Elite is distraught. Cody claims that Kenny interrupted what was supposed to be Hangman Page’s moment, and that was the impetus behind the attack. It is not even made clear if Omega is officially out of Bullet Club. The episode ends with Omega and Ibushi entering The Young Bucks hotel room.
