Rockstar Spud is in the WWE, and he has a new name, and a new job title — 205 Live General Manager!
Daniel Bryan introduced Spud at the top of the show as ‘Drake Maverick’, and puts Drake and the Cruiserweight division over before giving him the mic. Drake talks about fighting to get to WWE and says he’s there to make sure the fans get the best the Cruiserweights have, and announces they will have a 16 man tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion.
Former Impact Wrestling Star Continues To Tease His WWE Status
Drake announces the tournament finals will take place at Wrestlemania 34, but it will kick off tonight with the following matches:
- Cedric Alexander vs Gran Metalik
- TJP vs Tyler Bate
WWE did acknowledge Drake’s background on-air as Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness did note he is previously known as Rockstar Spud before referring to him by his new name.
