– Rich Swann and Mustafa Ali are playing WWE 2K17 backstage for some reason. I can’t imagine that would be allowed during a television taping. TJ Perkins walks in and Ali decides to leave them alone. Swann wants to know what’s going on between them, and thinks TJP is obsessed with trying to be better than him. Perkins claims it’s all about a little friendly competition, but his attitude says otherwise.
Tony Nese vs. Gran Metalik
Nese came out cutting a promo about how great his eight abs are. Metalik outmaneuvered him as soon as the bell rang, dodging his offense and firing off with armdrags and headscissors takedowns. Metalik connected with a standing dropkick and did a little taunting of his own to rub salt in the wound. Nese caught him with an elbow on the apron but Metalik jumped over a baseball slide attempt and flew off the top with a springboard moonsault without even looking! Eventually Nese took control back and slowed things down with a straightforward offense of kicks and knees, then dropped the high-flyer with a facebuster. They fought up to the top rope and Metalik started throwing hands to fight his back into the match, flying off the top rope with a crossbody for two. He went back up top and hit a missile dropkick, but again couldn’t get the pin. A third time he went to the well, this time coming down with a diving elbow drop to the heart; a third time Nese kicked out. They went back and forth looking for finishers until Nese kicked his knees out on the second rope, sending him crashing to the floor. A running knee strike connected in the corner and that’s all she wrote.
Winner: Tony Nese
