Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling star Trent Barreta has been pulled from tonight’s EVOLVE 88 event due to a nasty looking infection in his left elbow.
WWN Vice President of Talent Relations Gabe Sapolsky announced that Barreta would not compete on Saturday night, but luckily it looks like the four-time IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champion is going to be just fine. Trent initially wrote on Twitter, “Sorry guys. I couldn’t risk this being an infection and getting worse. Hopefully I’ll be good to go tomorrow.” He later updated his condition confirming that he had a “simple infection”, that he had been “sliced open and juiced” and would in fact compete at Sunday’s EVOLVE 89 event in Atlanta.
Looks like Trent Baretta is out for tonight. Our apologies. We’ll have a replacement from PWX. pic.twitter.com/OMNV7GIr0S
