– TJ Perkins is backstage taping up his wrists. Rich Swann walks up and asks if they have a problem, wondering why Perkins requested a match with him tonight. TJ says there’s no beef, he just wanted some friendly competition and to show him there’s no chip on his shoulder anymore. Perkins reminds him that he beat Swann in the Cruiserweight Classic.
(2) Jack Gallagher def. Tony Nese. They show footage of two weeks ago where Nese beat Gallagher by faking an injury and taking advantage of Jack’s Gentlemanly demeanor. We then got footage of Brian Kendrick assaulting Gallagher last week and breaking his umbrella over his back over and over again. They start things off with a nice back and forth grappling exchange. Gallagher rolls him up into a crucifix pin for two, then floats into another one and rolls him around the ring with ease. Nese created an opening throwing his opponent hard into the top rope then clubbing away at his back. He slowed things down with holds and power moves, making sure to appreciate his own muscles a few times just for good measure. Gallagher eventually fought back with a series of knee strikes, then hit a big underhook driver for two. He immediately went for an armbar but Nese deadlifted him into the air; Gallagher rolled through and almost stole the pin. Nese again landed on his knee and feigned an injury, forcing the referee to check him out. This time Jack didn’t fall for it, delivering a brutal headbutt. He hit a running dropkick in the corner and picked up the win.
