– John Cena’s music hits to kick off the show, and the 16-time world champion is here to a thunderous reaction! Loud chants go back and forth and Cena takes a second to drink it all in before getting on the mic. He wishes everyone a happy Independence Day and talks about how great America is, before addressing the rumors that he’s become a Hollywood part-timer. Cena says he’s not a part-timer he’s an all-timer, and that means appearing on both Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live. He calls out any and all competition and will knock down anyone that’s lined up in front of him.
– On queue, Rusev’s music hits and the Bulgarian Brute has finally arrived on Tuesday nights for the first time since being announced in the Superstar Shakeup. He comes out with a Bulgarian flag and the crowd immediately breaks out into a loud “USA!” chant. Yeah – America! Rusev is offended that nobody made commercials for his return and all everyone cares about is Cena, and runs down Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon for not even answering his calls. He calls the American Dream a lie and Cena fires up, telling him to shut up and step into the ring to get punched in the face. They trade insults back and forth for a bit until Cena challenges him to a match. Rusev accepts, but says it will be on his time.
– Daniel Bryan announces that AJ Styles will face Chad Gable with the winner getting a shot in tonight’s Independence Day battle royal for a future shot at the U.S. title.
