Open Challenge
American Alpha returned on tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live with Chad Gable being the man to answer Kevin Owens’ US Championship Open Challenge.
Owens said one lucky person from Dayton, Ohio (host of tonight’s Smackdown tapings) would face him tonight. AJ Styles came out and cut a promo on Owens, but Owens avoided the match before Gable made his entrance with partner Jason Jordan. Gable then entered the ring and said he moved to Dayton today so he wants the match, and after a bit of buffoonery, the match started on the spot. Gable got some offense in early, but Owens ended up beating him to retain.
