In-Ring Segment: Austin Aries
A-Double made his way down to the ring and talked about losing to Neville at Extreme Rules, fair and square, and how he’s had to take a step back and reevaluate his life and career since coming up short. Aries said he didn’t know what was next for him in pro wrestling…. Tony Nese cut him off and came out to the ring, telling Aries that if he didn’t know what his future in wrestling was, he should get out of his ring, jump the guardrail and never come back so that a “Premier Athlete” like him can take the ring. Gentlemen Jack Gallagher came out and called Nese a joke, said he couldn’t measure up to a man like Austin Aries. Nese took a shot at him, but Jack ducked it and broke his umbrella in half across his 8-pack abs. Aries and Gallagher stood tall in the ring to end the segment.
Backstage Segment: TJP & Rich Swann
Perkins is on his way to the ring for his main event match, but Rich Swann pulled him aside backstage. Swann said he looked good in his match against Neville last week, and it was too bad he couldn’t get the job done. Rich questioned the chip on his shoulder and his name change to “TJP”, and said the “TJ Perkins” he knows would go out to the ring and handle his business the right away. TJP said nothing, but seemed to consider it and continued walking to the ring.
