TJ PERKINS vs. AUSTIN ARIES
Perkins goes right after the injured knee and they brawl to the floor. Eventually they get back in the ring and Aries tries for the Last Chancery early, but TJP bails to the floor knowing he almost got caught. Aries follows and throws the younger star into the barricade, then off the ring, then into the table and into yet another barricade – we’re seeing a very angry A-Double tonight. They go back into the ring and Perkins catches him on the ropes, then connects with a running dropkick as Aries knee is caught up in the ropes. He continues the assault, focussing not just on the knee but on his arm and back as well. Both guys are looking for blood here.
Perkins slows down the pace of the match, continuing his assault on the injury as they fight in the ring and around ringside. Aries fires back with hard slaps, but TJP plants him with a Dragon Screw to maintain control, and slaps on an ankle lock. Eventually Aries fights out of the hold and hits a series of forearm shots, followed by a gutbuster, STO and the pendulum elbow drop. He throws the kitchen sink into the corner and connects with a top rope elbow drop to the back of the head for a nearfall. He tries for a neckbreaker in the ropes, but Perkins throws him to the floor and Aries goes down on his bad knee. TJP follows up with a triangle dropkick to the outside, rolling him back into the ring for two.
Once again Aries fights back and creates an opening for himself. He dropkicks Perkins to the floor and follows up with a suicide dive, but came down on his knee in the process taking both guys into the barricade. He slowly climbed to the top rope, but Perkins avoided a missile dropkick and hit a chop block from behind. TJP puts him in the kneebar and uses the ropes for added leverage, but the referee saw it and forced the break. He went for it again, but Aries rolled him into the Last Chancery for the submission. Winner: Austin Aries
– Neville attacked Aries immediately after the match. He wrapped his knee around the ringpost and slammed it into the steel over and over again. Neville put him in a heel lock and Aries writhed in pain, tapping out, but he’s stranded in the middle of the ring. Jack Gallagher ran down to make the save, smashing Neville with his umbrella. He cleared the ring, but the damage was already done to Austin Aries. The champion and his protege retreated up the ramp as the referee and Gallagher checked on Aries, to send 205 Live off the air.
