I posted my running thoughts from Monday and Tuesday watching RAW and SmackDown Live on Upgruv.com. Here’s some highlights of some of those thoughts starting with the hot topic of the WWE Women’s title:
>>Charlotte vs Sasha Banks inside a Hell in a Cell. First time ever a women’s match in WWE inside this structure is an attraction. While I look forward to the match, I’m also scared. They are flag bearers of a new era in WWE women’s wrestling of quality and presentation. A position both take serious and hold with pride. Just imagine the pressure they might feel and put on themselves in a match that’s known to shorten careers.
>>Lince Dorado in the cruiserweight division is really growing on me. I’m doing research weekly learning more about his career. All aspects from appearance to his in-ring ability is appealing. I feel he has a good opportunity to be one of the new talents who stands out and has longevity with the company.
>>Hats off to this James Ellsworth guy. A veteran on the indy wrestling scene who is getting some 15 minutes of fame. Actually, at this point it might be 20. To the best of my knowledge he isn’t signed to any length of a contract, but being used on a per appearance basis. Regardless, a better payday than most in pro wrestling are getting as he puts to use his look and ability to sell the other guy’s offense.
One thing is for sure is he definitely can ask for a higher booking fee moving forward on the independent wrestling scene with this recent notoriety. I look forward to the circus that will be his title match next week against AJ Styles.
Anyone else think Ellsworth looks like an older version of the character Kyle from the movie “Road Trip?”
