WWE Scaling Back On Scouting Criteria For Indy Talent; Looking To Beef Up NXT Roster, Is WWE Looking To Run An Australian PPV?

wweWWE Looking At PPV In Australia?

Shortly after this weekend’s UFC 193 event, featuring Ronda Rousey versus Holly Holm, WWE sent out a Fan Council survey asking Australian fans various questions about future events.

Some of the questions involved interest in attending a major event in Melbourne, which seems to indicate WWE wants to run a big pay-per-view there. Based on the time difference, WWE could run a show Monday at noon Australian time, and it would still air live in the United States at 8 p.m. EST. One other possibility they could look at is for a live WWE Network special.

WWE is reportedly looking to load up on talent heading into the new year, and previous “limitations” based on look and build won’t be used when scouting.

According to reports, WWE is looking to get new top stars for NXT touring, and would run it as a WWE style production, but they could promote “Ring Of Honor” level main events. Apparently Vince McMahon wasn’t too high on ROH and TNA talent appearing on the main WWE roster if they were already on a national cable show somewhere else first, but it’s reported to be a non-issue when it comes the emphasis on a “workrate” type promotion like on the NXT roster.
