Last month, WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts first told WZ exclusively that he had plans to get involved, in a big way, in a new wrestling company.
Roberts had the following to say to WZ:
“I’ll let a little secret out of the bag. Jake “The Snake” is about to become involved in a great, big way in a brand new company. Not GFW, not TNA… a brand new company that is going to rock the world. We’re gonna take it back to “old school” wrestling. It’s going to be running seven days a week in Las Vegas. Get ready. It starts in November and there’s going to be 70-80 guys employed by these people so it’s real serious. It’s real serious. We’re gonna be on television almost immediately.”
According to The Wrestling Observer, Jake said the promotion is offering full medical and retirement packages to wrestlers. Apparently they’re looking at launching in December with Jake, Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk training wrestlers in the old school style of pro wrestling. There has been talk of Douglas being involved in a promotion like this for several years but nothing has ever happened, until now it looks like.
