WWE Smackdown Results (7/30) – Swagger vs Rusev, Stardust Searches For His Hero, Cesaro vs Rollins!

Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins

vs Cesaro & Dean Ambrose

Owens and Rollins rush the ring before the bell, but Cesaro and Ambrose fend them off and get them to retreat. We get back to see the match officially start, and Owens connects with a senton before punching Cesaro a few times. Owens applies a headlock but Cesaro knocks him down and Ambrose connects with some clotheslines off the tag. Ambrose hits Rollins with a bulldog before Owens tries to interfere, but Ambrose dropkicks his knee and splashes Rollins into the barricade. Ambrose heads up top but Owens distracts him, and Rollins ducks a diving knee but Ambrose still attempts Dirty Deeds.

Rollins blocks that so Ambrose slams him down and gets a two count, then he connects with some mounted punches in the corner. Rollins drops down and counters with a buckle bomb in the opposite corner, then Owens tags back in and connects with some punches before heading up top. Ambrose crotches him on the ropes and they trade punches, but Owens still connects with a cradle suplex for two. Cesaro runs in and hits Owens, then Ambrose tags him back in and Cesaro unloads with uppercuts to Owens in the corner.

Cesaro hits a reverse fireman’s carry slam for two, then immediately rolls into the Crossface. Rollins runs in but Cesaro tackles him and puts him in the Cesaro Swing, then he transitions to the Sharpshooter until Owens makes his way over. Cesaro clotheslines him outside, then Ambrose prevents Rollins from diving outside and hits a superplex, and follows with a clothesline to the floor. Owens drops Ambrose with a superkick and goes for a pop-up bomb but Cesaro, still the legal man, runs in as Ambrose floats over and rolls Owens up for the win.

Winners – Cesaro & Dean Ambrose

This was a great ending to a really fantastic match. All four guys shined here and the set up of the tag match made sense, instead of just a typical ‘thrown together in the opening promo’ match. Really good wrestling show overall; this and the Swagger/Rusev match were highlights, along with Stardust and Sheamus’ respective promos.
