Following SpikeTV’s decision not to renew Impact Wrestling at the last meeting between Spike and TNA officials, it appears as if the two sides have worked out a deal which will keep Impact Wrestling on TV until the end of the year.
TNA President Dixie Carter has released the following statement:
“Impact Wrestling will remain a vital part of Spike TV’s programming on Wednesday nights, 9/8c, through the end of the year. Negotiations remain ongoing beyond this time frame.”
Paglino: It’s good to see Spike giving TNA ample time to test out the new move to Wednesday nights.
I don’t expect the Wednesday night move to make much of a ratings difference for now, but if/when Smackdown moves to Thursday nights and regular season football gets going, then the Wednesday change is definitely a smart, precautionary move on TNA’s part.
