WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler announced on MemphiSport Live this weekend that he will be competing in a match to celebrate the one year anniversary of his nearly fatal heart attack.
King will be stepping into the ring against the retired 63-year-old Austin Idol on September 13th, with 71-year-old Jimmy Valiant as special guest referee. Idol and Lawler are long-time Memphis wrestling rivals and, on occasion, tag team partners. Thier match will be taking place at the Resorts Casino in Tunica, MS, the location of the Jerry Lawler Museum.
