Two titles changed hands in the opening contests at tonight's WWE Payback event, live on pay-per-view.
In the night's opening contest, Curtis Axel defeated Wade Barrett and The Miz to become the brand new Intercontinental Champion. Miz had the Figure Four locked in on former champion, Wade Barrett, but Axel took advantage of the submission hold to simultaneously cover him, stealing the victory.
And in the second match at Payback, WWE Diva AJ Lee defeated her long-time rival and former friend, Kaitlyn, to become the new WWE Divas Champion. This is AJ's first ever title in her three years working with WWE.
