WWE has announced that Paul Bearer, real name William Moody, passed away earlier Tuesday evening, March 5th.
Moody, born on April 10th 1954, was better known as a professional wrestler and manager, working under the names Paul Bearer and Percival Pringle III. He was known for his time in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and World Wrestling Federation, where he most famously began managing the Undertaker in 1991. No reports as to what caused his death have been released.
WWE posted the following statement on their website:
"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.
Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans."
