According to F4WOnline.com, many backstage in WWE were said to be furious over A.W.’s Kobe Bryant joke on Raw, and many were even in disbelief.
WWE has issued an apology for the remark, and we noted earlier that a WWE spokesperson has said an “appropriate action” has been taken in the matter.
More on Laurinaitis’ Senior VP Resignation
PWInsider.com is reporting that John Laurinaitis’ resignation as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Relations is indeed legitimate and is not part of a storyline.
As we reported awhile back, Laurinaitis’ name had been removed from the Executive Officers listing on WWE’s corporate site several months ago, and was replaced by Triple H, real name Paul Levesque.
While WWE cited “burn out” as the reason why Laurinaitis has decided to resign, we have been reporting for months now that Laurinaitis’ job duties have been largely scaled back and were being absorbed mainly by Triple H and other employees appointed by Triple H.
Laurinaitis officially took over the Senior VP of Talent Relations job back in 2004, replacing Jim Ross who had previously held the job.
