Manic Monday: Four new GMs get set to take over Raw

November 14, 2004

CLEVELAND, OH – Last month history was made, when for the first time ever, WWE fans took over Raw and played GM for their very own Pay-Per-View, creating matches and naming stipulations that affected the entire Raw roster. Now, history will be made all over again, when the inmates take over the asylum.

In the main event of Survivor Series, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Maven overcame Triple H, Batista, Edge and Gene Snitsky, meaning that over the course of the next four weeks, each Superstar from the victorious team will get a chance to fill in for Eric Bischoff, and become interim general managers of Raw. Unlike their vacationing boss, it’s fairly obvious that the four Superstars will be anything but fair and impartial.

As acting GMs, it’s entirely possible that any and all of the winners will receive title shots, and considering that they have the rights to choose what kind of match they compete in, the odds will be greatly stacked in their favors. Whether vying for the World, Intercontinental, or World Tag Team Titles, there’s a chance that each of the four Superstars may hold gold by the time their jurisdiction ends.

Aside from not knowing what Orton, Jericho, Benoit and Maven have in store for Raw in the coming weeks, no one even knows for sure which Superstar will go first. And considering the four strong personalities involved, it will be interesting to see how the order is determined.

At this point, the only thing anybody knows is that the next month will be filled with unpredictability and drama. Raw is about to undergo the biggest transition of its eleven year history, and not the fans, the Superstars, or even Mr. McMahon himself have any idea of what’s looming on the horizon.

Just be sure to watch Raw tonight at 9PM Eastern/ 8PM Central to see how things unfold.
