Paul Heyman Explains Why TNA Will Never Compete With WWE

– Paul Heyman, along with other former ECW stars, took part in a special ECW edition of Byte This last night promoting the new “Rise & Fall of ECW” DVD. When the topic of TNA being competition to WWE was brought up during the show, Heyman was asked if they had a good chance of doing so. Heyman responded, saying absolutely not.

He said that Jerry Jarrett is one of the most brilliant businessman he has ever met, including Vince McMahon. Heyman said what was interesting about TNA is that they have found a way to spin their situation into something that has never been seen in the business before. He said from what he knows, the company has lost up to $15 million since it began in 2002 and that Jarrett will go down in history as one of the smartest guys because it was never his money, being that it was Panda Energy’s money.

Heyman went on to say that the combination of Jarrett making money and Panda Energy losing money will lead to their demise as everyone thinks now they have a chance to go up against WWE when they fail to turn a profit. He joked that Jarrett should be hired by a spin-meister by anyone in the business because of how brilliantly he has used his situation in TNA. He stated that he wished someone would step up and be competition to WWE, adding that it won’t be TNA.
