Steve Austin Becoming More Involved With Movies

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ — Steve Austin, the wrestling superstar known to World Wrestling Entertainment fans as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, continued his march into the mainstream movie business, announcing the formation of SCK Management, Inc., a talent management and production firm he will own and run in tandem with his lawyer and manager George Vrabeck.

Austin, who recently finished work on “The Longest Yard,” which stars Adam Sandler and is scheduled for domestic release Memorial Day weekend, also announced he has signed with ICM’s Michael Gruber for representation in all areas.

“With SCK and ICM in my corner, there’s no limit to what we can do,” Austin said.

Austin, whose decade-long domination of WWE changed the face of the sport forever — and established him as the most popular and successful pro wrestler in history — is currently prepping for his debut as an above-the-title action star in “The Condemned,” the first of three features he will make under the banner of WWE’s new movie production arm, WWE Films. Announced last month, Austin’s fully-financed, multi-picture deal with WWE and its colorful chairman Vince McMahon was brokered by Vrabeck shortly after he became Austin’s manager last fall.

“I’m excited to be back in business with Vince and WWE,” Austin said. “We’re really gonna kick some ass together. But I’m equally excited about all the other possibilities out there in movies, television, and merchandising.”

In addition to guiding Austin’s own career, SCK Management intends to produce features and television programs. It will also provide management services for other performers.

Austin’s manager and partner in SCK, George Vrabeck, will executive produce “The Condemned” with McMahon. Vrabeck has served as the CEO of Primedia Inc.’s largest Internet division as well as the President of Global One Distribution, Inc., a sports art licensee of the NBA, NFL, MLB, and the NHL. A lawyer who is also an MBA and a CPA, he began his career with Ernst & Young and later worked as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Company, Inc.
