Earlier today we noted that Steve Taylor had given notice to WWE. It actually turns out that the company let him go. He was the main man behind the setup at house shows and was a very well liked and high paid employee. His assistant was also released.
There is some fear in the company of more releases coming as a way of cost cutting. WWE is going to lose at least ten million a year when they switch to USA this fall due to running no advertising.
The big topic yesterday at the SmackDown! taping was that announcer Steve Romero called in sick. It got people talking backstage because the boys take bumps and work sick all the time without calling in and Romano is also very new to the company. He’ll likely hear it from the boys next week.
