TNA Offered Monday Night Slot; Major TV News Inside

Partial Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

TNA’s contract with Fox Sport Net is set to expire in a few weeks. FSN wants to keep TNA, but wants the company to sign a one-year contract. TNA is wanting a shorter deal in case they were to get a new TV contract with either WGN or Spike TV.

TNA has another meeting with Spike TV scheduled soon. If Spike TV would offer them a contract, they wouldn’t want TNA programming until the fall when WWE moves to the USA Network. Thus, if TNA signs with Spike TV, they could be left without TV until October.

WGN has offered TNA a Monday night time slot to oppose “Raw,” but WGN is a weaker station nationally than Fox Sports Net. If TNA moves to WGN, they would face programming conflicts with Major League baseball and Chicago Bulls NBA games.

A decision is expected soon from TNA regarding their TV situation.
