As reported yesterday, Gregory Helms was backstage at this week’s SmackDown/ECW taping. He was there to film some pre-taped promos, reports ProWrestling.net, so his in-ring return appears to be imminent. Helms has been out of action since April 2007 while recovering from neck fusion surgery. A few readers sent word that a display box featuring Helms played on the screen while Shelton Benjamin made his entrance.
The Columbus Dispatch has an article on SmackDown Diva Maria to promote a house show this coming Sunday in Columbus Ohio. Maria said wrestling can be dangerous. “The first time I got slapped in the ring, I had a filling knocked out of my tooth,” Kanellis said. “I’ve been pretty fortunate, though. I’ve had a split lip, a broken thumb and my shoulders knocked out of whack, but that’s about it,” Maria said. “It can be very dangerous. We’ve had wrestlers break their necks.”

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
