Roman Reigns is reportedly expected to appear in AAA after the tease on WWE RAW.
Following the main event of the August 3, 2026, episode of WWE RAW, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns met with AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio backstage. The Hall of Famer said he wanted to run an idea with him. The OTC agreed to listen, and they walked away together. The interaction naturally had the fans talking.
Addressing the segment on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE obviously plans to bring in Roman Reigns to AAA for an appearance. However, he confirmed it won’t happen at Night One of TripleMania 34 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 11, 2026. He also confirmed that it won’t take place at the AAA TV taping in Edinburg, Texas, on August 30, 2026. The show will go against AEW’s All In: London pay-per-view.
Dave Meltzer speculated that Roman Reigns could appear at the Worlds Collide event in Chicago
Meltzer then speculated that Roman Reigns’ appearance could take place at the Worlds Collide event on September 26, saying it makes the most sense. It’s scheduled to take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago and will run against AEW All Out. However, he clarified that he’s not 100% sure about it and that he only knows Reigns won’t appear at the Las Vegas and Texas events.
“Well, obviously they’re going to put him on a show. Now, what I can tell you is it’s not going to be the MGM Grand show. My two first picks were the MGM Grand show or the show in Edinberg, Texas, which goes against All In, because those made sense as they’re the next two upcoming,” Dave Meltzer said about the Roman Reigns situation.
“It could be Chicago. I mean, because that’s a big one. I don’t know Roman is on that show. It would make sense for him to be on that show. I only know that he is not on the Texas show and he’s not on the MGM Grand show,” Meltzer said.
