Kurt Angle shared a funny message after WWE SummerSlam 2026. The Hall of Famer reacted after Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins reunited. Their emotional moment also marked the final chapter of The Shield.
Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Before the final Spear, he revealed what he told Rollins. The match also honored former Shield member Jon Moxley. Rollins used the Rebound Lariat during the emotional contest. Reigns also hit the Dirty Deeds on Rollins.
Reigns finished the match with two Spears. Afterwards, Rollins left his Shield mask inside the ring. The former teammates then shared one final Shield fist bump. They also recreated the group’s iconic Shield pose together. While Moxley was honored, another former Shield member, Kurt Angle, also reacted.

Kurt Angle posted an edited SummerSlam image on X, formerly known as Twitter. The image showed Reigns and Rollins celebrating together. A faded image of Angle appeared between both stars. It made him look like part of the reunion.
He added a playful caption with the edited photo. He wrote, “Shucks guys…..I miss you too!” Angle has a unique connection with The Shield. Back at WWE TLC 2017, he replaced Roman Reigns as he missed the event because of a viral infection.
At that time, Angle served as WWE RAW General Manager. He teamed with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose that night. WWE presented him as an honorary Shield member. The trio defeated The Miz’s powerful five-man team, which included Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, and Kane.
It was also Angle’s first WWE match in 11 years. That memorable appearance still remains special for many fans.
